Watch as a tornado touches down during rush hour
The National Weather Service confirmed Tuesday that a tornado touched down in Bakersfield for the first time since 1999.
A local resident was able to record the tornado landing at Old River Road and Stockdale Highway about 7:10 p.m. Monday.
Although unusual, tornadoes in the area are not unheard of, according to the NWS.
No damage was reported, officials said.
