We've got a New Year's Eve plan to suit your style

By Amelia Robinson, Staff Writer Updated 8:17 PM Thursday, December 29, 2011

You surely didn’t think a year like 2011 would slip quietly into the sweet abyss.

Father Time 2011 wants to celebrate before he turns the keys over to Baby New Year 2012.

You’ll need a New Year’s Eve plan for Saturday night.

We’ve complied a list of some of the places in the Miami Valley where you can smooch your love, belt out “Auld Lang Syne,” or high five a stranger after the stroke of midnight.

We’ve also included a couple things for the in-bed-by-9-on-New-Year’s-Eve crowd.

Irish New Year’s

The Dublin Pub, 300 Wayne Ave., Dayton, will celebrate New Year’s Eve with two Champagne toasts — one at 7 p.m. to coincide with midnight in Dublin, Ireland; the other at midnight here.

Musician Ben Rivet will play contemporary covers from the 1990s and early 2000s until the bar closes at 2:30 a.m.

The cover is $5.

Champagne and Barbecue

BBQ and champagne will join forces at Company 7 BBQ, 1001 S. Main St., Englewood, beginning at 7 p.m. The free event includes dancing and a performance by the Wright Brothers band. Toast Champagne or sparkling juice at midnight. There will be $2 pork and sauerkraut sliders with applesauce when the New Year arrives.

Call (937) 836-2777 and hit 0 for a “pitboss” to make reservation.

Lots of dancing

It will be all about dance at Club Aquarius, 135 E. Second St., Dayton.

Dance instructors will teach partygoers everything from the Booty Call to the Cha Cha from 8 to 10 p.m. during the “Dancing Through The Decades” segment of the Time Travel New Year’s Eve Bash.

Dayton’s Timeless Entertainment Burlesque group and special guests Dangerous Curves, a burlesque tour from New York, will perform beginning at

10 p.m. There will be dance-offs and contests for the best decade costume. The bar closes at 2:30 a.m.

Admission is $15 or $20 with a champagne toast and party favors. VIP tables are $99 with a bottle of champagne and party favors.
