Starting in games that begin Thursday, Aug. 28, Major League Baseball will allow umpires to check video on home run calls. Relative to other major sports, baseball is late to the replay party:
Sport Replay history
NFL First used in 1986, but not used from 1992-98.
NHL In place since the 1991-92 season to check whether the puck crossed the goal line completely, went in before time expired
and wasn't kicked or batted in intentionally.
NBA Used since the 2002-03 season to decide whether players
got off shots before time expired and, since last season, to aid decisions following altercations and flagrant fouls.
Tennis In grand slam tournaments, replay has been used to decide close line calls since the 2006 U.S. Open.

I really think, that 99% of the time the umpires calls are correct. I believe if they use this too much, the umpire will soon quit paying attention to what he is doing and it will take a lot away from the game.I say, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
