FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The Dayton Dragons homered for the 14th straight game, pounding out three more in an 11-4 win over the Fort Wayne Wizards on Saturday, June 28.
The Dragons used a variety of ways to take a 6-0 lead in the first inning. Wizards pitcher Matt Teague didn't make it out of the first after the Wizards allowed three singles, a triple, two walks, a passed ball, a wild pitch, a throwing error and two groundouts.
Dayton made it 9-0 in the third on Angel Cabrera's first home run of the season. His three-run blast came with two outs. Cabrera finished with two hits and four RBIs.
Logan Parker hit his eighth home run with a solo shot in the seventh. Brandon Menchaca followed with his third homer, also a solo blast, in the ninth.
Dragons reliever Jeremy Horst improved to 3-2 with the win. Horst threw 31/3 scoreless innings in relief of Daniel Guerrero, who didn't pitch the mandatory five innings to qualify for a victory.
Brandon Waring went 0-for-2 with a walk to end his 13-game hitting streak, tied for fourth longest in club history.
