PINEHURST, N.C. — University of Dayton golfer Rob Chappell was eliminated in the first round of match play at the U.S. Amateur at Pinehurst Golf Course in North Carolina on Wednesday, Aug. 20, dropping a 4-and-2 decision to Matthew Swan of Montgomery, Ala.
Chappell, a senior-to-be from Cincinnati, had a 2-up lead after eight holes, but Swan played the next eight holes in 4 under par to end the match.

International fashion flair will rock Dayton a week earlier than usual.
