UD golfer makes cut at the U.S. Amateur

PINEHURST, N.C. — University of Dayton golfer Rob Chappell made the field of 64 for match play at the U.S. Amateur, shooting a four-over-par 144 for two rounds at Pinehurst Golf Course in North Carolina.
Chappell, a senior-to-be from Cincinnati, had a 74 on Pinehurst No. 2 on Tuesday, Aug. 19, making the cut by a stroke. His teammate with the Flyers, sophomore Zach Glassman shot an even-par 70 on Pinehurst No. 4 but missed qualifying for match play after finishing at eight-over-par 148.
