Minnesota (5-1, 1-1) at Illinois (3-2, 1-1), noon
Last year, in a 44-17 slaughtering of Minnesota, the Illini rolled up 655 yards of total offense, third-highest in school history. Included were 446 rushing yards. And that was on the road. No wonder Illinois scheduled Minnesota for its homecoming.
Iowa (3-3, 0-2) at Indiana (2-3, 0-2), noon
Dull game looms here with both teams on three-game losing streaks and both winless in the conference. Indiana's offense (421.4 yards per game) is third in the league, but so is Iowa's defense (281.2). The Hawkeyes give up 11.2 points per game, which is second in the nation. Odd stat: Eight different Hawkeyes have intercepted at least one pass.
Toledo (1-4, 1-1 MAC West) at Michigan (2-3, 1-1), noon
Upset alert? Toledo's offensive leader, junior tailback DaJuane Collins, is expected to be back to full strength after missing one game and playing sparingly against Ball State last week. Michigan counters with a stalwart run defense, allowing just over 100 rushing yards per game.
No. 23 Michigan State (5-1, 2-0) at Northwestern (5-0, 1-0), 3:30 p.m.
Northwestern is off to its best start in 46 years, but here comes running back Javon Ringer, the former Chaminade-Julienne High School standout. Ringer is second in the nation with 164.7 yards per game and first with 12 touchdowns.
No. 6 Penn State (6-0, 2-0) at Wisconsin (3-2, 0-2), 8 p.m.
Badgers looking to avoid first 0-3 conference start since 2000, but the Nittany Lions are allowing just 3.9 yards per down and have given up eight touchdowns all season.
