Mohican State Park and the adjacent state forest are outstanding in their beauty and offer limitless opportunities for visitors to explore one of Ohio's most unique natural regions. The striking Clearfork Gorge, hemlock forest and scenic Mohican River offer a wilderness experience while the resort lodge and cottages provide luxurious accommodations.

Lodge

  • 96 air-conditioned rooms, each with a private balcony and color television.
  • The lodge is equipped with private meeting and banquet rooms
  • a dining room, sauna, gift shop, lounge, and olympic-size indoor and outdoor pools

Cottages

  • 25 two-bedroom family cottages, each accommodates six people
  • Cottages are heated year-round
  • Includes cooking utensils, towels, bed linens and blankets

Camping

  • 120 campsites with electricity, fire rings and picnic tables
  • 33 campsites have full service hookups
  • 33 non-electric
  • Main campground is equipped with showers, flush toilets, dump station and a camp commissary
  • 12 walk-in campsites are close to the main campground amenities
  • 24 non-electric sites at the Hemlock Grove campground, pit latrines, tables and fire rings
  • 2 camper cabins equipped with bunk and double beds, a mini refrigerator and fan
  • Pets permitted

Trails

  • 13 miles of trails
  • Lyons Falls trail follows Clear Fork Gorge and features two waterfalls
  • The Hemlock trail leads to the scenic wooden bridge
  • Pleasant Hill trail follows the lake shoreline
  • Other trails are available in the adjacent state forest

Biking

  • 8.5-mile mountain bike trail that also passes through Mohican State Forest
  • Open both to mountain bike riders and hikers

Picnicking

  • Picnic areas are located around the park with tables, latrines, drinking water
  • 4 shelterhouses may be reserved

Fishing and Hunting

  • Smallmouth bass fishing. Largemouth bass, carp, crappie, catfish, perch and bluegill
  • Hunting opportunities are available in the adjacent state forest
  • A valid Ohio fishing and/or hunting license is required

Boating

  • Clearfork of Mohican River is one of the finest canoeing rivers in Ohio

Basic skating ability and the willingness to learn one of the fastest-growing sports for women in the nation is all that's required. Check out an open practice and workshop for women ages 18 and older this Sunday, Nov. 23, at Kettering's Skateworld.
