About the Park
This 42-acre site was the long-time home of the City's municipal swimming pool until its closing in 1996. After a comprehensive planning and public input process, a renovated Community Park was reopened in 2001. The park also has a redesigned and repaved parking lot, attractive landscaping and public restrooms located in the Learning Center that are open to the public during daytime hours.

  • A 12,000-square-foot concrete skatepark with a large bowl, curves, ramps and obstacles
  • The Community Park Learning Center facility (renovated former bathhouse) to house programs, classes and meetings
  • Two full-court basketball courts
  • Two handicap-accessible playground areasv
  • Picnic tables and park benches
  • A lighted, paved meandering walkway and bikepath

Basic skating ability and the willingness to learn one of the fastest-growing sports for women in the nation is all that's required. Check out an open practice and workshop for women ages 18 and older this Sunday, Nov. 23, at Kettering's Skateworld.
