CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
The person chosen to give the Pledge of Allegiance Wednesday night at the Democratic National Convention received a standing ovation.
Gymnast Gabby Douglas, fresh off her double gold-medal wins in London, flashed her trademark grin while saying the pledge.
On Wednesday afternoon, she and fellow team USA members McKayla Maroney and Aly Raisman spoke to children about eating right and exercising.
Douglas said she can't stay for the president's speech because of her busy schedule.
