The Beach Waterpark, an Adventure Landing Park, will hold a job fair on March 9 to hire approximately 500 seasonal employees in prelude to its May 18 grand re-opening.

New owner Adventure Holdings is spending approximately $5 million to renovate and add attractions at the park, which is located at 2590 Waterpark Drive.

Working at The Beach offers the opportunity to meet 500 new friends in “an exciting and fun working environment,” according to Ralph Vilardo, Jr., the park’s general manager.

“This park is a cornerstone for the community and we can’t wait to re-open our doors to all the same things you remember and new things we’ve included,” he said. “We want to teach people how to work in a fast-paced position, as this is a first job for a lot of young people.

Vilardo, Jr. has been general manager of The Beach since Adventure Landing purchased it and brings to the table more than 10 years in waterpark experience.

He said he always looks forward to this part of the season.

“Now we have so many new areas and revitalized attractions,” Vilardo said. “There are always so many great, new people who apply with us and some familiar faces that we’ve come to count on. We always look for award-winning attitude, appearance, customer service skills and work ethic.”

Those who arrive at the job fair between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. will be directed to the admissions building.

Potential employees are asked to fill out an application online at The Beach’s website before the job fair for maximum efficiency. Vilardo said everyone “should bring a great attitude and a smiling face” and adds that a “warm handshake and eye-contact are key to being a premier team member of the waterpark.”

Positions for hire include part-time, seasonal positions for supervisors, food service, bartending (for those 21 and older), life guarding, EMT rescue, park landscaping and maintenance (for those 18 or older), admissions, seasonal marketing, sales and special events, party captains, gift shop retail/merchandising, and game room attendants.

Adventure Holdings will honor all season passes that weren’t used last year when the park’s former owners announced last March that The Beach Waterpark would not open for the season.

Based in Jacksonville, Fla., Adventure Holdings owns and operates two waterparks and 18 family entertainment centers nationwide, including ones in Florida, North Carolina, New York and Texas.
