‘THE LIVING WORD’
Description: 37th season for the religious drama about the life of Christ
Location: 6010 College Hill Rd., Cambridge (Guernsey County)
Performances: 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays June 17 through August and 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays Sept. 2 to Oct. 1 (except for July 29 to Aug. 7); the musical Children of Eden (7 p.m. July 29-31, Aug. 5-7); Giants (6 p.m. June 29), a children’s puppet show; and The Chrisagis Brothers (7 p.m. Sept. 14)
Admission: $16, or $14 for senior citizens, $6 for children 4 to 12, half-price June 17 for The Living Word. Other shows $6 to $12, or $4 to $7 for children.

‘TRUMPET IN THE LAND’
Description: 42nd season for the historical drama about the founding of Ohio’s first settlement
Location: Schoenbrunn Amphitheatre, New Philadelphia (Tuscarawas County)
Performances: 8:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through Saturdays from June 17 to Aug. 27 (except on dates when other shows are running); the historical drama The White Savage (8:30 p.m. July 9, 11, 15, 19, 23, 28 and Aug. 1, 6, 9, 12, 16 and 20); and the musical Happy Days (8:30 p.m. July 29, Aug. 4, 11, 19)

JAMBOREE IN THE HILLS
Description: An outdoor rain or shine event, the festival boasts some of the top names in country music.
Location: Off U.S.. 40, Morristown (Belmont County)
Performances: The festival (July 14-17) includes Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Loretta Lynn, the Band Perry and more. Call for full schedule and set times.

NATIONAL ROAD / ZANE GREY MUSEUM
Description: Museum paying homage to the first national road to the west and Zane Grey, the “Father of the Adult Western” who wrote more than 80 books.

ROSCOE VILLAGE

ZOO
THE WILDS
Description: A 10,000-acre conservation center in southeastern Ohio where rare and endangered animals live in natural, open-range habitats.
Location: 14000 International Road, Cumberland (Guernsey County)
Big attractions: A baby rhino and cheetahs born during the winter, Bactrian camel, fringe-eared oryx, three types of giraffes, African wild dogs, Grevy’s zebras, trumpeter swans, two types of rhinoceros; Nomad Ridge, a luxury tented camp made up of canvas yurts for adult-only overnight stays
Open: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays in May, daily June through August
Admission: Safari Transport tour in enclosed bus, at least 2 hours, $20, or $19 for senior citizens 60 and older, $15 for children 4 to 12, free for children younger than 3; open-air safari tour, 2½ hours, $30, all ages. Both tours cover open-range areas as well as stops at viewing centers. Sunset Safari tour, including dinner, available Friday and Saturday evenings June through September, $75, reservations required. Wildside Tours, offered year-round, include interaction with animal specialists and observation of their work, 3 hours, $125, reservations required.
