Kings Island visitors have craved a full-service, sit-down restaurant for years.

Don Helbig, the amusement park’s spokesman, says the Reds Hall of Fame Grille will deliver a home run.

The menu includes fish and chips ($9.99), a colossal hot dog ($8.79), the Fielders Choice chicken wrap ($8.59) Bullpen spicy buffalo chicken dip ($7.99), fried pickle chips ($5.99) and Helbig’s two favorite items on the menu, chicken wings and ribs.

“We have something for everyone,” he said of the eatery that opens Saturday, the park’s opening day.

The baby back ribs and pulled pork sandwiches ($11.29) come thanks to a partnership with Cincinnati’s famed Montgomery Inn.

The ribs were fall-off-the-bone good at a preview event Thursday.

“I love chicken wings,” Helbig said, identifying the hot wings and the spicy garlic wings as his favorites.” And you can’t go wrong with baby back ribs.”

The Grand Slam Rib Platter is $19.99 and comes with Saratoga chips and slaw. A six-piece order of either traditional or boneless wings is $6.99.

The grille is the parks first full-service restaurant since the International Restaurant was shut down in the 1990s.

The place - a far cry from Kings Island’s food carts and counters - pays homage to Cincinnati baseball and has memorabilia dating back to the 1800s.

The bar’s counter top features ticket stubs, score cards, programs and other material sure to keep the attention of any Reds’ fan when they are not watching the game on one of 20 big screen TVs. Players’ names, jerseys and images grace the restaurant’s walls.

The bar will serve beer and wine. A regular draft beer will sell for $6.99. A premium draft beer will go for a dollar more.

The 11,922-square-foot restaurant’s patio overlooking coasters will undoubtedly provide a great place for people watching under an umbrella on a hot day (if we can ever get one).

Kings Island didn’t forget your sweet tooth.

Dessert options include an ice cream sundae served in a miniature Reds batter’s helmet, chocolate cake and cheesecake as smooth as anything granny use to make. Each is about $6.
