According to multiple published reports, country music star Billly Currington was indicted Wednesday by the Chatham County, Ga., Grand Jury for "terroristic threats" and elder abuse, according to the Savannah Morning News in Savannah, Ga. 

Currington is a native of Rincon, Ga.,  and has had several songs hit on the country music charts, including “Pretty Good At Drinkin’ Beer”, “That’s How Country Boys Roll” and “People Are Crazy.”

According the official documents the singer's problems stem from an incident on April 15 involving Charles Harvey Farrell. Savannah-Chatham Metro Police say the incident occurred while Currington was on his boat in the waters off Tybee Island, Ga.. The accuser claims Currington and his party were 'flocking' to his docks located off the island, a Metro Police spokesperson confirmed toWSAV.com.

According to the Tennesseean web site, Currington broke onto the country music scene in 2003 with Top 10 hit “Walk a Little Straighter,” a song he wrote about his stepfather, who the singer says was an abusive alcoholic. The site also says Curringinton entered a 30-day trauma recovery program in Arizona in 2007 to treat anger issues resulting from childhood abuse.

Currington received six months of follow-up treatment in Hawaii following the completion of the recovery program and returned to his career in early 2008.

Currington has received multiple award show nominations from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association, including an ACM Record of the Year nomination in 2010 for "People are Crazy".
