LOS ANGELES —
Urbana native Philip Stockton was up for an Oscar for sound editing for the “Life Of Pi”. He did not win. “Sky Fall” took the Oscar.
The Urbana native had been nominated for an Oscar a second straight year.
Sound designer Philip Stockton, a 1970 graduate of Urbana High School, was nominated Thursday morning in the sound editing category for his work with Eugene Gearty on “Life of Pi.”
Stockton won his first Academy Award last year for sound editing on director Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo.”
Stockton has worked on a number of famed movies, including “Goodfellas,” “Silence of the Lambs” and “Brokeback Mountain.”
“The Invisible War,” a documentary that highlights the story of Lebanon resident Kori Cioca, failed to grab the Oscar for Best Documentary Feature at the Academy Awards on Sunday.
