There are a few certainties in life: the sunshine will come out tomorrow if you are lucky, you’ll be taxed (particularly if your name is Tea Party Patriot Johnson), someday you know will die and gas prices will rise.

I don’t make up the rules, I simply write about them.

Some folks are fired up by that last rule.

Gas prices have jumped a whole 20 cents.

(Bar the doors. Put your women and gas cans in a safe place. Complain, complain, complain.)

Gasoline prices in Southwest Ohio jumped 20 cents a gallon in the past week to an average price of $3.85.

While no one wants to pay more for gas — most of us don’t want to pay anything for gas — there is no reason to start riding your unicycle to work.

You might want to. Ironically it is Bike to Work Month, so there.

Twenty cents here and there adds up, but it doesn’t add up as fast as $100 here and there.

Like Gloria Gaynor, you will survive.

But don’t expect a light at the end of the tunnel.

Brace yourself, gas prices are expected to rise for the Memorial Day holiday.

Hoard that petrol while there is still time.

Gas price increases get the blood boiling for good reason:

A) Most of us can remember when gas was much cheaper.

B) The spikes seem to happen without cause (it is all fishy.)

C) Stuff shouldn’t cost more.

D) The gas industrial complex completely has us over a barrel.

F) Your car won’t move without go-go juice.
