Sue Joyce's turkey strata

7 or 8 slices bread, white and / or whole wheat

2 cups cooked diced turkey

1/2 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup chopped green pepper

1/2 cup chopped celery

1/4 cup Miracle Whip

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 1/2 cups milk

2 eggs, slightly beaten

seasonings you like (salt, pepper, garlic, etc.)

Tear 5 pieces of bread into small pieces and place in the bottom of an 8 x 8-inch pan. In a bowl, combine turkey, vegetables, Miracle Whip, soup, and seasonings. Spread turkey mixture over the bread pieces. Tear remaining bread into pieces and layer over the top.

In a medium bowl, combine eggs and milk. Pour over all; then cover and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour or for overnight. Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes.

Yield: 4 - 6 servings.

Kenny G and ice, what could be better? [things to do]

What would Brian Boitano do? If he lived in the Miami Valley, he'd check out "Skate for the Heart" featuring saxophonist Kenny G. and Olympic and World Champion figure skaters at 7:30 p.m. tonight, Nov. 19, at the Nutter Center. Boitano won't be there, unfortunately, but here's who will: Ekaterina Gordeeva, Irina Slutskaya, Viktor Petrenko, Jeffrey Buttle, US Pairs Champions Rockne Brubaker and Keauna McLaughlin, Shae-Lynn Bourne, Caryn Kadavy, Jozef Sabovcik and Steven Cousins.
