They're berry good: Latest color trends for the season
Use these tips to shop wisely and stay in style

Raspberry, blackberry and strawberry — this season's favorite fashion colors offer yummy possibilities. Berry hues are giving a fresh meaning to harvest fruits for those seeking a break from standbys like rust, pumpkin and olive.
Everything from tuxedo dresses to corset belts can be found in these mouth-watering shades plucked ripe from nature's trees and fields. The juicy color palette ranges from cranberry to blueberry, picking up wine and a range of purples including mulberry, boysenberry, huckleberry and grape.
These often deliciously rich hues are inviting and intensively lush. Balance berry tones with a healthy dose of neutrals — tan, taupe, khaki, wheat, black and white.
But with the economy on shaky ground, one has to shop wisely:
• Seek berry clothing that will keep in the "refrigerator," carrying you into winter months in style — sweater dresses, swing jackets, cardigans and boots.
• Search your cupboards, pulling out preserved berries. Because there are so many shades of berry colors, you probably have something stored. Purples were popular last fall as well.
• Use less. Because berries can be so eye-catching you don't have to use as much. Use berry as an accent piece to punch up an outfit. Consider accessories like bracelets, belts, scarves and handbags.
• Diversify your diet. Berries are not the only kitchen color in vogue for fall. Keep oranges, tomatoes, celery and other purples like plums and eggplants in mind when you shop.
