Isaac Mizrahi for Target and Kohl's Simply Vera have to make way on the runway.
Victor Alfaro and Bon Ton Stores Inc., the parent company of Elder-Beerman, are the latest internationally known fashion designer and department store chain to couple.
The Victor by Victor Alfaro women's collection is set to debut at Elder-Beerman department stores in Beavercreek, Centerville, Huber Heights, Kettering and at the Dayton Mall Monday, Aug. 18. Alfaro may visit the area in the spring.
Born in Mexico, Alfaro has received acclaim as a ready-to-wear and couture designer.
His Bon-Ton collection features women's jewelry, handbags, footwear and clothing. Many are in luxury fabrics such as Italian merino wool, silk, leather and cashmere.
The partnership marks one of the first times Bon-Ton has collaborated with a designer, said spokeswoman Heidi Franks.
"The price points are great, especially when you consider the fabrics," she said.
Contributed imagines of the designs are promising with several featuring jewel tones and animal prints pieces. One shot features an animal print cashmere sweater and a gathered skirt. Yet another features a zebra scarf and a cardigan over a fuchsia silk tunic and leggings. Clothing prices range from a $44 knit to $288 for a jacket or coat. Accessories start at $34.
Bon-Ton Stores, Inc. operates 280 department stores in the United States including Elder-Beerman stores in Dayton, Kettering, Springfield, Piqua, Huber Heights, Hamilton, Beavercreek, Middletown, Centerville and Miamisburg.
