St. Louis Rams offensive tackle Terrell Brown weighed in at 403 pounds, making him one of the heaviest players in recent NFL history.

 
  • Coached by Doggie Julian, the 27-3 team featured George Kaftan, Joe Mullaney and freshman guard Bob Cousy (above).
  • Coached by Phog Allen, 6-foot-10 center Clyde Lovellette led the nation in scoring, then led Jayhawks to national title. He is the only person to ever accomplish that.
  • Coached by Phil Woolpert, the Dons ended up winning a total of 55 games in a row across a couple of seasons. San Francisco won two consecutive titles behind a punishing defense led by Bill Russell (right).
  • Frank McGuire's team had a veteran lineup led by star forward Lennie Rosenbluth, who averaged 28 points. UNC finished the season a perfect 32-0.
  • Coached by Fred Taylor, the 25-3 Buckeyes - which included future Hall of Famers John Havlicek, Bob Knight and Jerry Lucas - steamrolled through the NCAA tournament by an average of 19.5 points a game en route to their only national championship.
  • Coached by John Wooden, the 30-0 Bruins were led by freshman Lew Alcindor (later known as Kareem Abdul-Jabar), who averaged 33.7 points and led the team in rebounds.
  • Coach John Wooden called this his best UCLA team. The team's 47-game win streak was snapped early in the year in a legendary game - dubbed
  • Lew Alcindor capped his legendary career at UCLA with 37 points and 20 rebounds in the title game over Purdue.
  • Sophomore Bill Walton lived up to his advance billing, leading the Bruins to a 30-0 record and the national championship while averaging a double-double (21.1 points per game and 15.5 rebounds per game).
  • The Bruins capped a run of seven consecutive titles. Bill Walton makes 21 of 22 field goals on the way to scoring 44 points in the title game - an 87–66 win over Memphis State.
  • Coached by Norm Sloan, the 30-1 Wolfpack ended UCLA's run of seven titles with a double-overtime win in the Final Four.
  • Bobby Knight's (right) squad remains the last team to go the season unbeaten.
  • Jud Heathcote's 26-6 Spartans defeated Indiana State for the national title - this was the first (Larry) Bird vs. Magic (Johnson).
  • Coached by Denny Crum, the Cardinals went 33-3 and were unbeaten in conference play. The team won two overtime games in the tournament en route to a national championship.
  • Dean Smith's first national title team included the likes of James Worthy, Sam Perkins and freshman Michael Jordan (23).
  • Coached by John Thompson and led by center Patrick Ewing, the 34-3 squad downed Houston for a national title.
  • Rick Pitino's team, also known as “The Untouchables,” included nine players who would eventually played in the NBA.
  • Lute Olson's Wildcats remain the only team to defeat three No. 1 seeds on the road to the national championship.
  • Jim Calhoun's squad featured Charlie Villanueva (from left), Ben Gordon and Rashad Anderson. Also on the team was future lottery pick Emeka Okafor.
  • Coached by Billy Donovan, the Gators team - which included Taurean Green (from left), Joakim Noah and Corey Brewer - won back-to-back national titles in the last Final Four played at the Georgia Dome.
  • Coached by Roy Williams, Tyler Hansbrough (50) and the Tar Heels won all six tournament games by double digits, by an average of 20.2 points per game.
  • Coached by John Calipari, the Wildcats were 16-0 in SEC play and 19-0 at home. Kentucky played its third consecutive NCAA tournament and had 344 blocks - the most in NCAA single season history.
