The drugs are called Lybrido and Lybridos and while they are termed female Viagra, they work very differently than the male drug.

Viagra affects men physically by allowing blood flow to the nether regions.

Both Lybrido and Lybridos would do its work on the area of a woman’s brain that deals with desire. The New York Times reports "it would adjust the primal and executive regions of the brain. It would reach into the psyche."

The drugs would help pump dopamine into the system. That helps the neurotransmitter that encourages desire.

Testing is still going on but doctors and scientists say things look promising. They hope to have FDA approval and bring the drugs to market by 2016.

One person involved in the testing told the Times she and her husband "had sex five times a week when before it was once a week."
