There's more to November than Thanksgiving turkey. Here's a look at some of the best of what's happening this month.

Nov. 1: Fall back: Set those clocks! It's time to change time and sleep just a little bit longer. Bonus.

Nov. 3: Meet the boys of The Rubi Girls: The 2010 RubiGIRLS wall calendar was unveiled at a benefit in August, and now The Rubi Girls are ready to re-launch the calendar in time for the holiday shopping season. Meet the men who make up the troupe at Carmel's Southwest & Mexican Grill, 1025 Shroyer Road in Dayton from 5:30 until 8 p.m. All proceeds from calendar sales will go to area charities like AIDS Resource Center Ohio and the Greater Dayton LGBT Center. http://rubigirls.com.

Nov. 3: New releases out in stores include Carrie Underwood's "Play On," "Glee: The Music, Volume 1," Weezer's "Raditude" and internet sensation Straight No Chaser with "Christmas Cheers."

Nov. 3: Killah Priest of the Wu-Tang Clan: The rapper and hip-hop artist will perform at One Eyed Jacks, 2638 Colonel Glenn Highway, Fairborn. Nov. 13: "2012": Nothing says "happy holidays" like a film that tells the story of a global cataclysm predicted by the Mayan calendar. In theaters.

Nov. 14: America Recycles Day at the Boonshoft Museum: The first 300 children and adults who bring 10 aluminum cans per person for recycling will get free admission to the Boonshoft Museum. All other children and adults who bring 10 aluminum cans for recycling will receive $3 off their admission. Hours for the event are 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Boonshoft Museum of Discovery, 2600 DeWeese Parkway, Dayton. "America Recycles Day" is an annual, national awareness event to promote the social, environmental and economic benefits of buying recycled goods and recycling. The goal is to increase the purchase of recycled content products and recycling throughout America.

Nov. 14: The 8th Annual Oregon District Barstool Open: Newcom's, Ned Pepper's, Sloopy's, Dublin Pub, Blind Bob's, Trolley Stop, Oregon Express and Tumbleweed will be taken over by greens and putters. Nov. 17: DVD releases: Include J.J. Abrams take on "Star Trek." But we're more excited about "Fight Club" finally getting released on Blu-ray. But that's all we'll say about that because "the first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club." In stores.

Nov. 17: New releases out in stores include Susan Boyle's "I Dreamed A Dream," Adam Lambert's "For Your Entertainment," John Mayer's "Battle Studies" and "The Fall" from Norah Jones.

Nov. 25: Thanksgiving movie openings: The day before Thanksgiving will see openings of many offerings hoping to win your time and attention. "Fantastic Mr. Fox," "Ninja Assassin," "Old Dogs," Disney's "The Princess and the Frog," "The Road" and "Me and Orson Welles" are all scheduled to open. In theaters.

Nov. 26: Thanksgiving: Eat, drink, eat, drink, be merry. Nap. Watch football. Eat. Not necessarily in that order.

Nov. 27: Grande Illumination and Children's Parade: The events are combined starting with the Grande Illumination from 4 to 9 p.m. at Courthouse Square, between Second and Third streets, on Main Street downtown. Femme Fatale Fitness of Centerville has come up with an attention-getting way to promote food donation. The studio, which offers classes in pole dance, burlesque and "tease-yoga," will present its first playfully named "Cans for Cans" benefit performance at 8:30 p.m. today, Nov. 20, at Brixx Ice Co., 500 E. First St. Admission is five canned or otherwise non-perishable food items, but vouchers benefiting the food bank can also be purchased at the restaurant and bar.
