The big-name, high-profile restaurants around town — you already know about them. You've dined at them, seen the ads, talked about them with friends. Then there are those other eateries in out-of-the-way places or sometimes simply tucked into the back of your mind. They keep a low profile, work hard to serve up excellence on a plate and often succeed in attracting a loyal clientèle — usually without an advertising budget.

Now granted, we know we didn't find 'em all. That's where you come in. We welcome your suggestions for other "hidden gem" restaurants that deserve to be a bit less hidden. So feel free to nominate your favorites, and we'll share your suggestions with readers in a future story.

The Buckhorn Tavern has the best food! They are my favoriie place to eat. The best ribs in the state. They are located on Meeker rd at Heathcliff in Vandalia.

Salsas Mexican Restaurant one of the best restaurants in dayton they have very good mexican food as well latin american dishes, o by the way they have latin dances on friday and saturday night we ate dinner and then dance ….wonderfull night. they are located at airway shopping center, across from the air force museum

I don’t know if you have checked out the “4200 Club on Kettering Blvd., across from the now closd G.M. Plkant. Good home cooking and a very good price. No bar

The best kept secret for lunch (M-F) is the restaurant/lounge in the New Capri Bowling Lane on South Dixie. The food is great and modestly priced; the specials are fantastic! They only serve until 1:30 or 2 PM so get there early on Fridays for the Fried Chicken special….it’s the BEST!

I need a driver for my phillips snn6500 wireless netcard or smc2632 wireless net card. I can`t make them run on linpus linux lite.

No, Yosef. You didn’t write that sentence, you typed it. There are some great dining options in Tipp City. There’s Tipp of the Town right off I-75. This family restaurant has great food. A definite contender for best Wings in the Miami Valley can be found at Hinder’s, a small bar and grill on the way downtown. There’s also Harrison’s, which has the best Buffalo Chicken sandwich I have ever had and a really nice menu. And decent barbecue can be had at the cafeteria setting of Hickory River.

When my husband and I get a craving for diner food we go to The Starlite Diner on Wilmington Pike in Kettering across from Meijer. They have big portions of diner style food for reasonable prices. My husband always gets the Chicken Parmesean Sandwich and I like the Philly Cheesesteak. The coleslaw that comes with all meals is really good too.

I think Murray’s in Kettering on S.Dixie is a great place to eat. They have great weekend breakfasts as well.
I think everyone should also consider the Buckhorn Tavern as well located on Munger rd. at Heathcliff.
If you a looking for standard fare bar food try the Sports Deck on Wilmington pike in Kettering.
I also reccomend Bunkers Bar & grill in Vandalia St route 40 at brown school rd.
There is a reason I am a fat man and it is not from eating bad food!!!!

IN THE SUMMER TIME THEY HAVE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL OUTDOOR SEATING WITH THE PONDS. IT IS JUST LIKE BEING ON THE ISLANDS. WE WOULD HIGHLY RECEMMEND THIS RESTAURANT TO EVERYONE. We love Troni’s, a small Italian restaurant in a small strip mall near the intersection of Wilmington/Dorothy Lane in Kettering. The prices are very reasonable and the food is great. The garlic rolls are something you don’t get at other places and the dough they use for their Stromboli’s is wonderful.
