March 2009: Volunteer of month Tiffany Smith

Monday, March 09, 2009

Volunteer profile

Tiffany Smith

Volunteers for Mountain Top Ministries Youth Works Program

Residence: Dayton

Age: 20

Volunteer since: 2006

Why she volunteers: "By volunteering, I feel like I've made someone else's day brighter and helped myself by seeing my communities' joy. It's important for me to volunteer and give my time so I can help my community and make a difference because I can't complain at the end of the day if I haven't tried to help implement change."

Why it's important: "Tiffany volunteered many hours of free time to the development and positive interaction for young people, while maintaining high standards for herself. Tiffany is an honor roll student at the University of Cincinnati. She has won several academic awards during her two years at UC. She is active in a number of groups on campus, including a homeless shelter in Cincinnati, on top of all her work that she's completed with our Youth Works Program." — Mr. Beatty, Mountain Top Ministries, Inc.
