Dayton’s David gets the boot

First of all, I want to say that I tried to like David. I really did. But this week on ‘The Bachelorette’ he blatantly disrespected Jillian and made her uncomfortable. He even made the audience uncomfortable. His arrogance and hostility nurtured his delusional idea that he was the “bad boy” with a heart of gold that Jillian was looking for.

But no, he’s not a bad boy, he’s a bad guy and there’s a difference.

Glad to see him go. What about you?

As for the rest of the guys, here’s the rundown:

Kipton: He was the first one to get a rose tonight. He’s not memorable for me, but for Jillian, the ever-elusive spark keeps drawing her in. He’s on the road to be a strong contender. I love his maturity and how genuine he comes off. I really think he could be a great person for Jillian.

Jesse: He got a rose on the group date for his masterful curling when they visited Vancouver, Jillian’s hometown. My first thought when he came on screen was “Who is this guy?” I don’t remember seeing him at all in previous episodes and I’m surprised that he landed a rose.

Mark: He snagged the third rose when he begrudgingly opened up on the two-on-one date. I didn’t like him at first, but as soon as he offered a glimpse of himself, Jillian was sold. His heart’s been annihilated by past loves and Jillian can empathize. In this case, empathy equates to a rose.

Before the Rose ceremony where we find out who else is safe, it is revealed that one of the bachelors has a girlfriend back home and is here for the wrong reasons.
After all the hype of this revelation and the hour and a half build-up, it is uber frustrating that we don’t find out who it is. Well, we get hints that it’s Wes, but Jillian is left clueless to make her decision. Ug.

After Jillian’s emotional exit and the cancellation of the cocktail party (Which causes a couple guys who haven’t gotten to talk to Jillian to have kittens) we find out which of the remaining nine are safe for next week.

And they are… Reid, Robbie, Ed: who are thus far unmemorable for me.

Michael: Is quite possibly my favorite. He’s funny and nice. Everything he says just makes me laugh And I love that he’s really nice to the other guys too. I cracked up when he said, “He’s a really nice guy, which just sucks.” and after the blue team loses the curling competition, “I feel like a loserish blob of blue nothinness.” He’s adorably charming, but I can see his immaturity becoming an issue.

Wes: I dislike this guy and his career-furthering motives. He’s obnoxious and manipulative. If he’s the guy with the girlfriend I really hope he gets the boot next week. And by get the boot I mean that I hope someone kicks him in the face…while wearing a boot.

Jake: Deemed too perfect by Jillian, he was worried that he was doomed. But he made it through! Jake is a genuine nice guy who really is vying for Jill’s heart. I always find myself smiling when he’s talking because he’s such a sweetheart. He is very sweet and nice, but I think it’s a bad sign that “sweet and nice” are the only words I can think of to describe him. Unless he shows us that there is more to him, I don’t see him sticking around much longer.

Tanner: He gets points for not obsessing of Jillian’s feet this week. Without all the fetish talk, I was actually able to see him as a nice guy. He’s also the one who started all the drama towards the end by dropping the bombshell that someone had a girlfriend. I think it’ll be interesting to see what happens with him in the next few episodes.

And going home this week: Mike: I was really surprised to see him get the boot on the two-on-one date, but after Mark showed what a heartbroken, vulnerable little puppy he was, Mike didn’t really stand much of a chance.

David: If Jillian won’t kiss you, saying “Well you’ve kissed all the other guys.” isn’t going to help your case any.

Juan: Shocked. Almost sad to see him go. I was starting to get the vibe that his cornball-ness was real and a sort of liked it.

What did you think about the anti-climactic ending? Predictions for next week?

Embarassing…complete jerk. His being nice some of the time does not erase his not so nice moments. He has a major alcohol issue…and if he’s so fabulous why is he not married to one of the women who never rejected him…

I can understand why everyone is glad to David go but all of you forget the conversion between he and Juan and what one of guys said to Juan after that. I don’t remember who it was, but they said to Juan, ” i agree with Dave.” None of those wanted to jump on his bandwagon in the fear of “getting the boot”. I understand that, and I agreed that some of things that that Dave said were wrong, but what would you do? Gentlemen, you wouldn’t want 12 other guys chasing after your “girlfriend”.

Yes, David’s parents are proud of him, as they should be. Chablis, giving out names on a cite like this is low. Hope your kids are proud of you.

David is the worst bachelor in history! He is a womanizer, woman-beater, homophobic, and the most angry man i’ve ever seen….go crawl under a rock! What an embarrasment to himself, his family, and to Dayton.

What a jerk. In the beginning I thought “what a handsome man”, but after I saw the way he acted, and after his failed attempt to kiss Jillian, I was embarrassed that he was from Dayton

You can say what you want to say, that he was edited a certain way and all that garbage. But you can’t put words in someones mouth and spouting off he never gets turned down and practically mull over Jillian in an attempt for a kiss, all the while cussing up a storm. Then to go on and on attacking Juan, because he couldn’t handle competition. I was hoping he would be a nice guy, but he is just a jerk. He should be on a meat head dating show like they have on VH1 or MTV, that is more his style.

Even if the producers did take clips of David and he was wearing different clothes he still embarressed himself and anyone that owns up to knowing him. There is no excuse to say the things he either in or out of context. He is how old? His behavior suited middle school or younger.

Too much alcohol was an issue for David. I wish him the best of luck in his dating future.

I grew up with and worked with David’s parents. I really wanted to root for him. However, his “potty mouth” was not impressive. If my son portrayed himself that way on National TV I would have washed his mouth out with soap! I can’t believe he really thought he would impress Jillian and the national audience with this behavior. Not one of Preble County’s finest!! (yes, I know he lives in Dayton, et al, but he IS a PC native). Rod and Ginger, are you proud?

Well the next 2 weeks she gets down to the real guys she wants to be with. I can’t wait till the guys all get with each other the Monday before the last Rose. FireWorks big time. Heck those are the best when they get with each other and talk about what really went on behind the scenes, I wont say Final Rose, look what happen at the last version.Still unless David comes forth-if allowed- and talks what happen, we wont know.

I completely understand that the show’s producers edit things to draw more viewers. But, I think it’s highly unlikely that they told him to say that he wanted to tie one of the other guys to a tree and kill him. That is just plain stupid, a little juvenile, and very telling of his character. And I don’t mean his TV character. And his behavior on last night’s show when he was sitting there with Jillian was all him. He’s never been turned down for a kiss before? Bet he will now!

From friends in Mason,David Works there, not in Dayton. We only see 2hours out of7 days of taping. So really don’t see all that goes on.After the 2nd week, I was tired of Wes.Friend in Nashville, said Garth Brooks is looking to see if Wes didn’t steal some of his words in his song to Jillian.. As for the one with a lady back home..Be a Man and step away. Giving a rose to Wes and Tanner, too much.If Tanner didn’t want to say out loud it was Wes, She wont trust him next week.

David is a good guy. If you pay any attention, you will see he’s wearing different clothes through the shows, which is why they take clips and put them together to make him look like they want him to look. He was nothing like this. the show is fake.

I also really wanted to like David in the beginning, but he quickly proved otherwise. If he agreed to act that way for ratings, then he’s done himself in. I also think Wes needs to go. Writing a song for her off the bat is too much. Had it come later, maybe so. Mike seems like a lot of fun and even with his fetish, Tanner is growing on me….

Repeat after me; RATINGS, RATINGS, RATINGS. I’m not saying that the guy wasn’t a jerk, however they could have told him to act that way in order to get people to watch. Well it worked!

David is a great guy who the show’s producers have made into their bad guy to create more drama in a ridiculously lame show.

What a bully!!! No wonder the guy is still single. Ladies Beware! This guy has domestic violence written all over him!

what a psycho! And, to be honest, I think the guy has a drinking problem! The more he drinks, the more agressive he becomes. She should be glad she cut him loose when she did.

I am glad he is gone too…and so is Jillian. He was just so full of himself and he isn’t all that!!!

In speaking with David’s family, let’s just say, “Don’t believe everything you see on reality tv.” Producers did what they wanted to do with his “character,” let’s just hope that he can overcome the “damage.” Good luck David.

I am glad he is off the show. How embarassing for Dayton. What a mouth! Hope viewers don’t think we are like him.

I was thrilled to see David go. I am embarrassed that he is from Dayton with the way he has acted…between last night and earlier saying that he would kill Juan if he could. Not a whole lot of intelligence there in my opinion!

Go back to the totally awesome '80s this weekend [things to do]

80s fashionista

"Back to the '80s," an area premiere, opens Friday, Nov. 6, for three weekends in Kettering. The retro show is an account of 1989 high school senior class, as recalled by a man in his 30s. Unrequited love, popularity (and its opposite), a debate about CDs replacing cassette tapes, student elections, a stolen speech, new kids in school and an English teacher in a magazine centerfold are among the plot lines. There are 20 songs, including "Footloose," "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and "You Give Love a Bad Name." Like, totally awesome! » More
