Staff Writer

Thursday, April 10, 2008

A new restaurant specializing in northern Indian cuisine is set to open early next week near the Dayton Mall.

Kohinoor Palace Fine Indian Cuisine — located at 39 S. Springboro Pike across Ohio 741 from the Dayton Mall, in the same building that houses Taste of Mediterranean restaurant — is awaiting final approval from health inspectors and could open as early as Sunday or sometime next week, owner Pawan Kumar said Thursday, April 10.

Extras

The restaurant, which seats about 90, is named for the 105-carat Kohinoor diamond that originated in India but later taken to England during colonial rule.

When it opens, Kohinoor Palace's hours will serve lunch and dinner seven days a week. For more information, go to www.kohinoorpalace.com. The restaurant's phone number will be (937) 723-9015.

Kumar also co-owns a restaurant in Westchester, N.Y.
