DAYTON — Dolcessa, the gelato and panini restaurant that closed last November in the Oregon District, has reopened in its new location at 1106 Brown St., near the University of Dayton.
The restaurant has an expanded menu of gelatos (Italian-style ice cream), with about 22 flavors available daily, and is making its own cones, co-owner Jules Opperman said. It also offers 11 paninis, the Italian-style sandwich on Focaccia bread, and various types of latte, cappucino and espresso from its Italian espresso bar.
Extras
Dolcessa was open for about a year at 510 E. Fifth St. before closing because of slow traffic. Opperman said the proximity to UD, NCR, Miami Valley Hospital and other businesses made the new location desirable.
Dolcessa is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. For more information, call the restaurant at (937) 331-9590.
