Restaurants at The Greene
The Greene shopping center in Beavercreek has crashed the Dayton-area dining scene like a meteorite with its high-profile, high-volume restaurants, nearly all of them national chains.
Wine bars
The Miami Valley has gone from zero wine bars to a half-dozen or so in a few short years and they all do an admirable job of serving up fun and interesting wines — and some serve pretty good food, too.
Beer bars
There are many bars in town that have an impressive list of bottle beers — Southern Belle and Jimmie's Cornerstone among others — but there's something about a watering hole sporting a wall of taps where the Miller and Bud domestics of the world are far outnumbered by cool microbrews.

Go back to the totally awesome '80s this weekend [things to do]
"Back to the '80s," an area premiere, opens Friday, Nov. 6, for three weekends in Kettering. The retro show is an account of 1989 high school senior class, as recalled by a man in his 30s. Unrequited love, popularity (and its opposite), a debate about CDs replacing cassette tapes, student elections, a stolen speech, new kids in school and an English teacher in a magazine centerfold are among the plot lines. There are 20 songs, including "Footloose," "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and "You Give Love a Bad Name." Like, totally awesome! » More
