So you're ready for spring and you'd love to get away from it all, but that simply isn't in the picture at the moment. Well, thanks to the Dayton Art Institute and The Irvine Museum, what is in the picture is a soothing alternative: a visit back in time to California's lush and gorgeous landscapes in an era when they were still pristine. "All Things Bright & Beautiful," the new exhibit that recently opened at the DAI, is aptly named. The colorful collection of 60 turn-of-the century California Impressionist paintings is irresistible. Forty-four artists are represented. » More

The Miami Valley's Asian dining scene continues to welcome impressive newcomers as it blossoms and diversifies. Dayton-area Asian food enthusiasts now have access to great diversity of dishes and cuisines. Chinese cuisine dominated the Asian dining landscape 20 years ago and remains a potent force. But today there are far more Thai and Korean options available locally, and Vietnamese and Japanese restaurants, including sushi bars, have increased. Here's a sampler platter of a few of the relatively new (or newer) Asian restaurants well worth trying. More »

I think there should be a much better way to get the word out that activedayton.com needs people to vote for the best of anything. 100 votes for any bowling alley, restaurant, etc… is not very many. We have many bowling centers, restauraunts, etc… in the dayton and surrounding areas.

Wow….. South is a nice center, but I am in Love with the Clean bright look of Capri Lanes. They are so friendly and make me feel welcome every time I go in there. Good Job to J.D. Legends

@Trish-ehh apparently people DO know what they are voting for… numbers speak volume…I’ve been to quite a few places and yes maybe they all have different styles BUT we are in the 21st century and JD legends keeps it uptodate.. they offer a wide variety of entertainment for ALL ages, my family & friends can bowl, have fun in the arcades, sit @ the restaurant or bars, there are concerts, tourneys and so on. It has such a relaxed atmosphere& staff is on point & friendly.. I vote JD LEGENDS!

Me and my husband bring our kids to Strikezone to bowl almost every other week. We try and do a family event every week and Strikezone provides that family environment that we love. Thank you.

I’ve been to Strikezone a number of times and everytime I go, my family and I always have a great time. The service from the bowling center is fantastic as well as the J.D. Legends restaurant. I am a very clean person and Strikezone is the cleanest bowling alley I’ve ever seen. I will continue to bring my family back here as frequently as I can. I also had a birthday party for one of my kids here and it was nothing but fun the entire time. They did everyting to make my daughters birthday great!

Actually JD Legends ENTERTAINMENT Complex is a bowling center as well. As a frequent league bowler, I’ve been to all of these bowling centers listed here. JD Legends is by far the CLEANEST bowling center I’ve been too which is very important to my family, and the Nicest Staff around! My family and I always go there to eat dinner, bowl and finish out in their arcade. My kids are always begging me to take them there, Keep up the great job guys!

My family and I love going to JD Legends Bowling Center. We went Thursday and learned that they had $1 games and shoes after 8pm. I believe this special runs Monday thru Thursday. My kids always have the best time and the staff is exceptional!

@Scott Ehhh who says Hey lets go out to the bowling center? I cant think of anyone, and I bowl rather frequently. Maybe some “proper” weirdo from Europe would say it that way but no local would. Bowling Alley, Bowling Lanes. Been the only way I’ve ever heard it.

Next time you have this poll could you please change it to “Best Bowling Centers”. Alley reminds me of a small space between two buildings not a place that I go have fun with my family. Bowling Centers is more twenty first century.
Thank You,
Scott
