My apologies it was joes or Pizza Factory, this was over a year ago this conversation took place, but with BOTH cranking near 40k votes. Theres no disputing there were scripts running. There is not enough unique visitors on this site for that kind of numbers. I have a witness that would vouch for the voting-script conversation taking place.

I knew what you meant Mary. ;) No, no web developer and the owners of Joe’s Pizzeria are honest, hard working, thoughtful people who would never consider scamming their way to win a contest. Anyone who knows them knows that is true. So get over it. Last year was not a scam and neither was this year. Joe’s IS the best so swallow your jealous pride and move on … Former DDN employee?? Right!! It’s just a contest … someone comes in first, second and third. Good heavens.

Um, Joe’s doesn’t have a website so it’s highly unlikely they have a web developer. A DDN employee getting their facts wrong. now there’s a shocker.

Joe’s lover I am not sure if you misunderstood my post, I was not implying that it was a scam that Joe’s won, I was responding to Pizzalovers accusations that it was a scam last year. I have been eating Joe’s pizza since 1986 and will never eat anything else. I tried Marions once and still don’t know what all the rave is about it, but to each his own.

Joe’s Pizza is the easliy the most consistently delicious pizza in Dayton. They use only the best & freshest ingredients. Importantly their are very reasonable and the serving sizes are very adequate. They also have an impeccably clean operation.

I think there must be some Rosati employees or owners logging in as different people trying to get their pizza on this comment list over and over. Springboro is a tiny town, and Rosati’s is never busy. Their pizza is awful and no matter when you order, you wait forever. We stopped going there.
We like Marions, but find it overpriced and the quality inconsistent. Sometimes we go there, but since they only take cash, rarely.
We like Johnny’s pizza in Centerville (used to be Rockafellas)

Joe’s Pizzeria is the best in the Dayton area. My mouth waters just thinking about it! I have traveled the globe, lived in multiple states, just had Chicago deep dish this past weekend which was yummy, but for the best in Dayton its gotta be Joe’s!

Wow, I never knew how many people in the Dayton area were insanely emotional about where they buy their pizza. After reading some of the comments on here I am appalled at how so many of you are acting. It’s great that the internet gives a faceless persona that can be changed at any given moment but that is still no excuse for acting like a complete a*s. Those of you who have attacked people for their opinion, going so far as to attack where someone else was born, should be ashamed of yourselves.

Pizza is by a persons own taste. I prefer Giovanni’s in Fairborn, I drive over a 100 miles to get one. They are all mostly good (pizzas) but they are the best to me, TRY ONE, you’ll see. As far as cost, who cares, as long as it’s a good pizza per your taste.

Rosati’s in Springboro has incredibly awesome pizza. The crusts come in 5 different sizes and 5 different styles! The best in my opinion is the Chicago Style, a truly delicious and filling pizza so big you need a fork and knife for the first half or every slice!

The only thing good I can think to say about Marion’s pizza is that it’s local which possibly is the answer to the question, “It’s not pizza, so what can it be?” Local, that’s what.

I mean one lady went so far as to tell off someone and call them ignorant for thinking their fav pizza was the best……. The best pizza in the world is Hoagie’s on North Dixie Drive in Northridge and there is also a Troy location. It is family owned and has been around forever. This poll is not fair, as it has split the Pizza Factory vote into two…as the South Park Tavern is the same. The Tavern is owned by the owner of the P.F. and just a few doors down. They changed the name of the sit-down restaurant, due to the confusion of two locations on the same street. The pizza is the same—& it’s great! Perhaps you should fix your poll to read Pizza Factory/SP Tavern

Marions is ok. The world has many pizza parlors. Most are ok. I would not drive to far for a Marions. It is not much differant then Casanoes or Christys. I like them. But, a coal fired oven pizza is almost always superior. I don’t think Dayton can afford one of these.

My rankings: 1-Marion’s, 2-Joe’s, 3-Classic, 4-Kramers, 5-Little York Tavern. I will have to try Milano’s though next time I’m there. I usually get their calzone or sandwiches. Marion’s is expensive though.
I have had NYC pizza in NYC. I have had Chicago pizza in Chicago. My rankings: 1-Chicago, 2-Dayton and last is NYC cuz your pizza wasn’t very good.

pizza originated in brooklyn , ny….the stuff they sell in dayton is of inferior quality….they have no idea what italian sausage is here….when i asked for it at marions…it took the counter girl fifteen minutes to check with the manager…and they told me they had something called pork topping….then they cut the pie into one inch little squares…what is that all about….i guess that is a thing they do here…so you wont put to much of that crap they sell as pizza in your mouth at once

To the Marion lovers. You are brainwashed. You have been tricked into thinking that its the best. To bad for you. Wake up. Pizza is more than soggy little squares with mystery meat sitting on a cracker. The dough has no taste and little texture. A great Pizza is well balanced with all of the ingredients coming together to create a great taste and texture. Marions gets high marks because it is a comfort food thing. The people who vote for them have not tasted the good stuff yet. Try them all

Dewy’s is hands down the best. I love Marion”s and I agree Godfathers is great, but the variety at Dewy’s beats them all. from traditional to unusual. My son calls it Turtle Pizza. From the Ninja Turtles and the cheeze just coming up in strings. He agrees it is awesome too.

In my opinion, Dayton has it’s fair share of decent pizza houses. However, I don’t get why Dayton style pizza is cut in baby sized squares. Real pizza is cut into big wedge shaped slices. While Marion’s pizza is tasty (despite the 1”x1” squares), on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being best), I’d give them a 6.5 for quality and a 2 for value. Their pizzas are way overpriced for what you get.

Joe’s Pizza is the best and it’s too bad they don’t deliver. Cousin Vinny’s is just incredible and they have the best deal in town, the Big 10. Why you daytonians love Marion’s pizza is beyond me. It’s ok. But it’s not fresh and so generic. There is nothing special about it. And not a good value either. You can see the cans and cans of generic tomato sauce just sitting back on the tables as you order. It’s nothing special folks.

I get sick of arrogant NY people (especially Brooklyn) thinking it’s so great. If it’s so great why are you here, NYC? There are no more percentage of good Pizza places in NYC than Dayton. If we don’t serve the kinda of pizza you grew up with it doesn’t make it bad, just different. Go back to where you grew up and quit putting down Dayton.
