I don’t think that you told the people at Maid-Rite’s in Greenville you were having a contest. Because they would win this contest hands down! P.S. How many other burger joints can say they were on the food network for the best loose meat sandwich out there?

The Brookville Grille is the best. Have you tried their chocolate malts, sweet potato fries or the homemade ice cream? They all go good with the terrific burgers too!!

Slyders makes a great burger. My wife and I also enjoy Harrigan’s burgers too. They are flame broiled and you can get them as rare as you like.

We go to Brixx downtown twice a week. They are the only place you can get a true medium cooked burger. I love red meat and they will give it to you still “moo-ing”, they only way to eat a burger.

Early this year we embarked on a quest to find the best hamburger in Dayton. While we didn’t get to visit everyone, we got to most of the places listed. No winner there! For us , the winner was clear! Gregory’s!!! Downtown, across from the Victoria Theater. We were surprised too!!!

You should have also included Joe’s U.S. 40 Grill in Springfield..Great burgers and fries with a 50s/60s decor. Another favorite would have been The Spot in SIdney.

by far T.J.CHUMPS burgers are the best! consistantly good each time you order one.i’m nominating chumps! as for the hamburger wagon, a $1.10 for what they call a hamburger!!….jeez! R.J, i grew up in the burg and hung out with the porter’s the original owners, and these burgers are nothing like they use to make them in the 60’s & 70’s. i would rather go to white castle. 100% beef steamed over onions on a steamed bun…..yea!

For a quick hamburger downtown go to Bourbon Chicken in the National City building. Huge and really good hamburgers. Of course their bourbon chicken or spicy chicken over spicy rice with cajun spuds is pretty special too!

What about Buffalo Wild Wings?! I know they’re known for their wings, but I the first time I had a burger there it blew … me … away … Hoowah! Now, I compare every burger to the BW burger standard to see how it stacks up. So far, nothing comes close. I don’t know why this is. I just don’t get it.

The Brookville Grille has fabulous hamburgers, three types of french fries including sweet potatoe fries and onion rings! The food is fabulous and for dessert try the chocolate cake with the peanut butter icing! Mmmm!

So yeah - BARLEYCORN’S is the BEST! The food is A-mazing, comes in a super timely manner and the staff and owner are the BEST. If you haven’t gone, you absolutely must. The others you’ve all listed are good too, but Barleycorn’s is definitely our pick.

slyders has the best burger in dayton and very good wings small and simple cold beer and many tv s that dont take up the atomosphere. i have had almost all of these nortons is thin and dry tanks tries to hard to taste like slyders.brixx everything there is from sysco nothing that fresh voltzy poop.red robin for a chain is pretty good. but if you really want an unparalelled burger experience go to slyders in belmont. then when finished get the lead out at the arms depot right across the street.

FirstTimer, it’s something you eat once in a while. BUT Did you wait a long time to get your order?? Answer is I bet you did. You may not like them, but they do sell a hugh amount of them every year. When it sold not long ago, I heard the former owner was making $300,000 a year.. People wait in line for them and buy a dozen or more when they stop. I myself, only get them once a month. Just a sweet onion and pickle, but I think they are just like what I eat growing up in the Burg.. My two cents

The Brookville Grille is a wonderful place to eat. The burgers are excellent and the rest of the menu is great too. The 40’s style motif complete with Coca-cola signs and neons annoucing their old-fashioned ice-cream made in house daily makes the meal an event.

I ate at the Hamburger wagon in mimaisburg for this first time just this afternoon. Horrible, salty, crap… I would have rather just licked the street. How could this thing survive all these years. I am a fan of the burger at KD’s Kettering BBQ though.

Hamburger Wagon Recp.. Take ground chuck, mix in unbleached flour, rool into balls, dip it into hot lard, let cool . Anyone in The Burg for more then a week knows this. I learn how to make them while in HS at MHS, from the Founder of the HW,his Grandson , JoePorter. It is the lard that gives them the sausage taste.. However TANKS has the best burgers with low cost.

The only reason why the flatts burgers are good is because you have the cook from the deck up the and I’ve heard from people from the flatts in the deck saying that the burgers at the upper deck are better than the jackass flatts. So why dont you have the Upper Deck on your list. for my vote its the Upper Deck you beat a full size burger for $1.00 on sat and sun every weekend.

How did Slyder’s miss the poll, they’re Leadbelly favorites. I missed the nomination period so i failed to nominate them. S. Thurman, that sounds like a great burger. You didn’t mention what place you’re talking about though. An excellent burger can be had at Tipp of the Town in Tipp City.

If you are around the Kettering area near E Dorothy Ln, Norton’s Bar serves up the best burger’s around. It has a nice spacious patio. The server’s make you feel welcome and let you relax. Good place to take friends and hang.

Try a Snicker’s burger in New Lebanon, Ohio - on Route 35 West They even have a PLATE SIZED hamburger….but I prefer the quarter pounder.

Go back to the totally awesome '80s this weekend [things to do]

80s fashionista

"Back to the '80s," an area premiere, opens Friday, Nov. 6, for three weekends in Kettering. The retro show is an account of 1989 high school senior class, as recalled by a man in his 30s. Unrequited love, popularity (and its opposite), a debate about CDs replacing cassette tapes, student elections, a stolen speech, new kids in school and an English teacher in a magazine centerfold are among the plot lines. There are 20 songs, including "Footloose," "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and "You Give Love a Bad Name." Like, totally awesome! » More
