I was in Dayton, OH and heard about Skyline chili for a long time…always heard it was good and maybe the best. Had two Coney dogs with Cheese, a bowl of the chili with all the toppings and a Greek Salad. In all honesty, I’ve had better dog food than the chili. I’m glad I saved the salad for last as it was the best thing I had that night. My wife asked me to bring some home ifit was really good, so needless to say, I won’t be bringing any home at all.

My vote is for Olde Glory in Huber. They are a little out of the way, but worth the trip. Their Chili - as with everything else on their menu - is home made.

Jimmies cornerstone definetly the best chili, why is skyline and goldstar even in this competition?\ Since when does processed fast food constitute for the best of anything? I bet the skyline coorp has about 300 computers alone…so it is no wonder why they have won this…say no to proccessed garbage and go all fresh ingredients with a family owned company

JIMMIE’S CORNERSTONE - Best chili, best soups, best all around casual menu by far!
Skyline is not BOWL chili, it is TOPPING chili! Let’s stick with the local guy and choose the REAL BEST CHILI in town!

Some good choices on here. Brixx is awesome. Harrigans is pretty decent. I’ve never had the Chili at Christopher’s because their chicken soup is so good. But Tank’s will always be my favorite, especially if you get it lat at night when it’s meatier and spicier….yum!
It is getting to be pretty well known that Cox Media fixes these contest so that their big advertisers win more. Hence the Skyline dominance here.

What the f**k?
Skyline is a Cincinnati company
why should local restaurants have to compete with that?

I understand people who appreciate the old corner shops and diners because of their chili. However I don’t think it’s fair to blast a chain because you think their food isn’t chili, take any chili out there, throw it in a blender and voila Skyline Chili. Now I on the other hand would take this chance to pull some of the regulars who go to bigger chains. People vote how they want. You can’t question that.

All chili is the best! If you don’t like chili, well there isn’t much use for you! But there is something about Skylline Chili that makes you want more. Even go through withdrawals. Nothing better than chili spaghetti and cheese choney with a bottle of hot sauce. YUM… The best in the business is Troy. Best manager and cutest waitresses this side of the Pacific ocean. They make you feel like family….. Not may places like that around….

Lived in Dayton all my life. Jimmie’s Cornerstone has excellent HOMEMADE Chili. They are a family owned business. Great atmosphere and food. I like to spend my hard earned money at a local business not a national chain like “it’s not chili Skyline”

Saying if you like Skyline Chili only if you are under 10 yr old makes me wonder about your age. Why are you throwing such a babyfit abiout losing to the best tasting Cincinnati style Chili there is? There is no shame in that.

I have live all over the world. Have entered and won chili cook-offs. Sky-line chili is not chili, it some type of meat and sauce. The chili at Brixx is closest to real Texas chili. It is almost as good as the chili that I make. You can ask my son and his friends.

I only eat homemade chilli, my father makes the best. I cant believe 250+ people selected skyline. I’ve been there twice in my lifetime all within the past 8 years and didnt taste well to me at all. Just my opinion.

The people who think skyline has the best chili are either under 10 years old or have never actually tried anything else. That’s not chili, folks, it might as well be meaty gravy. And, please, turn off the caps lock when posting. No need to shout.

I know this sounds crazy, but you should try the chili at Champps in Washington Townshio. I am usually a fan of the chili you find at small, local places/dives, but I tried the chili at Champps one night, and I was SUPER impressed! It was perfectly seasoned, full of meat, and the portion was great, too. I crave it all the time now. Seriously, if you love chilii, you need to try it!

Skyline Chili on Wilmington has the best chili if you have it over pasta or on the hotdogs which are the best. The service is very very good also. Friendly atmosphere not only from the servers but the management as well. Always there to hold the door for you and they will check back on a regular basis to ensure everything is OK and to refill your drinks including the water. I love going there.

I Like several of the chili’s listed Tanks, Christophers, Geez among others, however I have a problem with Skyline/Goldstar being on the list. Why? Because most people who eat it as a 3/4/5 way and not as a bowl of chili. If you want to take a vote on your favorite “chili spaghetti” then let’s add those two. But come on to say they compete with a real Bowl of chili….Not today
