UD grad & Banfi exec to lead tasting at Rumbleseat
Wine event of the Week: Bill Whiting — director of wine education for Banfi Winery and Estates, grandson of Banfi founder John Mariani Sr. and a 1990 graduate of the University of Dayton — will host a special drop-in wine tasting of Banfi wines from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6 at Rumbleseat Wine, 5358 Far Hills Ave. in Washington Twp.
Rumbleseat’s Chris Holloway said wines to be tasted Thursday include Centine Bianco, a blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Pinot Grigio; San Angelo Pinot Grigio, an estate-grown wine from the Montalcino region; Centine Rosso, a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon; and Castello Banfi Rosso Di Montalcino and Belnero, both Sangiovese-based wines from different areas in Tuscany.
No reservations required, and wine samples will be priced by the taste. For more information, call (937) 938-9801.
