Boston’s Bistro & Pub shooting for ‘Most Arrogant’ three-peat

DAYTON — Boston’s Bistro & Pub will launch its week-long effort to sell the most Stone Brewing Co. Bastard Ales — and thus be crowned the “Most Arrogant Bar In America” — at midnight Friday, Nov. 12.

If Boston’s wins the competition by selling the most Stone Brewing Co. Arrogant Bastard ale, Oaked Bastard ale, and Double Bastard Ale between Nov. 13-19, it will be the third victory for the pub at 7500 N. Main St. Boston’s won in 2006 and 2008.

Two local charities are also benefitting from Boston’s Bistro & Pub’s “Most Arrogant” effort: 50 cents of every pint, or $1 of every pitcher, will go to Diabetes Dayton and the Miami Valley Astronomical Society, housed at Boonshoft Museum of Natural History.

The “launch party” at midnight Friday, Nov. 12 will feature live music. Monday night is chili night and Astronomical Society Night, with educational videos. Tuesday night will include a Dayton Gems meet-and-greet. A “Most Arrogant Stone Trivia Night” will be held Wednesday night. On Thursday, Boston’s will be the only bar in Ohio to release the Stone Brewing Co. Lucky Bastard Ale. on Friday, an “Over the Top” party is planned, with a bonfire, star gazing, and a drawing for prizes for those who purchase an “Arrogant Passport” for $1 and have it punched whenever they purchase an “Arrogant” ale.
