Dayton shows its heart — AND its love for wine
If there was ever any doubt that Daytonians have a big heart when it comes to worthy causes — and a big thirst for wine knowledge — last night (1-24-09) should put that doubt to rest.
There were two “competing” wine events (and charity fundraisers) on Saturday night’s schedule: the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery’s “Science of Wine” event, which by all accounts was a smashing success, and the “Let It Breathe” benefit to support the Dayton Cystic Fibrosis Foundation held at the same time at the Taj Ma Garaj in downtown Dayton, which from personal account, was a smashing success.
An estimated 350 people attended the Boonshoft event at at least $75 a pop (Click here to view photos from the Boonshoft tasting, while I know the Cystic Fibrosis tasting was a sellout, with the $100 VIP tickets selling out well in advance of the event.
That, my friends, reflects well on the Dayton community, and bodes well for us local wine enthusiasts as well.
Congratulations to both organizations — and to those who attended!

The event was fabulous! Great wine, great food, great people. And I wish nothing but the best for Jessica. My prayers are with you. I was more than happy to help out such a great organization.

Thanks also to the Dayton CFF team and all of those who donated their time, food and wine a huge success. The food and wine was GREAT! And I’m looking forward to having Chef Chris cook a private dinner in my home! Did I win the wine cooler?
