Next to these 7 states, Ohio’s alcohol laws look positively enlightened

Check out this news release from the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States.

Stunning, isn’t it, that seven states would still have on their books Prohibition-era laws banning the sale of alcohol on Election Day. (Thankfully, Ohio escapes the embarrassment — this time — although two neighboring states come off as fools.)

Hard to disagree with the council’s description of the laws as a “ridiculous relic.”

We actually pay these lawmakers, right?
