NOW I’ve heard it all: Wine can improve liver health
I am not making this up: Wine can protect your liver against disease.
So sayeth researchers at the University of California-San Diego Medical Center.
What next? Curing blindness? Baldness? Bursitis?
Behold, the power of fermented juice of the grape …. in moderation, of course.
Cheers!

I have little respect for these studies or articles until they differentiate among the genetics of the individuals studied. The blood type theory and genotype diets acknowledge people react differently to various components of the diet - not just alcohol, but things like caffeine and prescription drugs (supposedly some individuals have slow acetylation in the liver and are very sensitive). Some of the diet theories differentiate the effects of white wine, red wine and beer. Until the tailoring is done to individuals by blood type, secretor or non-secretor status (supposedly non-secretors, who do not secrete blood antibodies into sweat or saliva, have a higher rate of alcoholism), other genetics, etc.,these studies are probably misleading and useless on an individual basis. (P.S., I am an engineer, not a doctor, but that probably makes me more analytical.)By Jim T.
