New BBQ restaurant opens today in Troy

TROY — The new OinkADoodleMoo barbecue restaurant that we first told you about in September is set to open today, Oct. 26.

The new restaurant, owned and operated by franchisee John Webb of Dayton, is located just off I-75 at 1600 West Main St., Suite A, adjacent to a Goodwill store and in a storefront that formerly housed a Fox’s Pizza. It opens with about 30 employees.

“Troy has been a target market for us from the day we opened our first location,” Ralph Gamberdella, OinkADoodleMoo co-founder and vice president of franchising, said in a news release. “We are fired up about the Troy opening and expect it to be a high-performing location.”

Franchise owner Webb said Troy-area residents have shown “genuine excitement” about OinkADoodleMoo’s opening.

This is the local barbecue restaurant chain’s fourth location. OinkADoodleMoo began in fall 2009 with the opening of its first location at 322 Union Blvd. in Englewood. In 2010, the restaurant chain added a mobile vending unit at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and a second full restaurant at 3910 Far Hills Ave. in Kettering.

In addition to pulled pork, pulled chicken, beef brisket and pork ribs, the new Troy restaurant’s menu will include applewood-smoked turkey, an addition that will be available at OinkADoodleMoo’s Kettering and Englewood locations in November.

OinkADoodleMoo seats 50 for dine-in and also offers carryout and catering. The new restaurant’s hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed Sunday. For more information, call (937) 335-6465 or check out the OinkADoodleMoo Facebook page.
