Free ‘blueberry pie’ ice cream cone today at Graeter’s

Graeter’s Dayton-area ice cream shops are giving away a free scoop of Elena’s Blueberry Pie Ice Cream in a sugar cone from noon to 5 p.m. today, Thursday Sept. 8.

The ice cream giveaway marks the kickoff to Cones for the Cure, a partnership between Graeter’s and The Cure Starts Now Foundation to help raise awareness and funds for cancer research, according to a Graeter’s news release.

Between today and Sept. 25, 2011, customers who visit a Graeter’s store can donate to “Cone for the Cure.” Those who donate $5 will receive a gift booklet with coupons worth at least $15 in savings at Graeter’s stores.

Graeter’s officials said they will be announcing two additional days this month on which they will be giving away scoops of Elena’s Blueberry Pie Ice Cream.
