Books & Co. to host “Heartland” cookbook author Friday

KETTERING — Judith Fertig will be introducing her book entitled “Heartland: The Cookbook” (Andrews McMeel Publishing, $35) at 7 p.m. May 13 at the Books & Co. store at 350 E. Stroop Road in the Town & Country shopping center. Sample bites of select dishes from the book will be served at the event. The cookbook is described by its publisher as “a collection of delicious recipes that puts a modern twist on Midwest tradition.” Recipes range from breakfast foods to dinner courses and include dishes such as Flyover Duck Confit, Heartland Daube with White Cheddar Polenta, and Pheasant Schnitzel with Danish Red Cabbage.
