New cafe now open in Oakwood
OAKWOOD — The Select Start Cafe has opened at 2515 Far Hills Ave in The Shops of Oakwood.
The cafe’s owner is Thy Vo, who launched the venture with his friend Anthony Canterbury after the downturn in the economy left him out of a job in his fields of physics and robotics, according to the a news release from the Kettering Moraine Oakwood Chamber of Commerce. The pair enjoyed coffee and science and decided to combine those passions in a cafe.
“The idea was to create a digital and physical space where we could include customers in our geeky passions: coffees, teas, games and science,” the Select Start Cafe web site says.
In addition to free high-speed WiFi, the cafe specializes in coffees, teas, fruit smoothies, Italian sodas, lemonade bubble tea and pastries as well as Cousin Vinny’s Pizza by the slice, according to the chamber of commerce.
The cafe’s hours during the winter quarter are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to midnight Friday, 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. For more information, go to www.selectstartcafe.com or call (937) 297-0447.
