Norton’s morphs into restaurant, unveils new menu today
Norton’s Sports Bar & Grille is dropping the “Sports Bar” from its name, unveiling a new menu today, and focusing on the dining side of its business going forward, according to owner Fred McGhee.
The eatery now known as Norton’s Grille moved from a Wilmington Pike location 16 months ago into 580 Lincoln Park Blvd. adjacent to Fraze Pavilion in Kettering — a space that previously held full-service restaurants Lincoln Park Grille and before that, Harbour Lights. McGhee said the new focus on restaurant service, the additional menu items and an expanded wine list are a better fit for the neighborhood and for the larger space, which is nearly four times larger at 8,600 square feet than the previous location and seats 212.
Karaoke has been discontinued, McGhee said. The restaurant will still feature live music on occasion, but not as regularly, he said. Norton’s now has a trivia night on Wednesdays, and a “kids-eat-free” special on Tuesdays.
The new menu includes mahi-mahi, prime rib, several kinds of wraps, pasta dishes and salads, McGhee said. There is a happy hour from 3-7 p.m. weekdays. Later this year, Norton’s will begin hosting wine tastings and wine dinners, McGhee said.
Norton’s Grille employs 22, but is expanding employment in preparation for the summer season, when shows at the Fraze boosts business and the restaurant’s patio opens, McGhee said.
