Skyline offers free cheese coney to celebrate Reds

Skyline Chili is offering a free cheese coney to customers in honor of the first Cincinnati Reds playoff game since 1995.

There are three caveats:

— You’ve got to order something else off of the Skyline menu;

— You’ve got to wear some Reds gear such as a hat, jersey, jacket, pins, or some other type of Reds-themed “spirit gear,” and

— The offer is good for one day only: Wednesday, Oct. 6 — the day the Cincinnati-Philadelphia playoff series begins.

The cheese coney is usually $1.60 on Skyline’s menu.

Here’s a paragraph from a Skyline news release about the promotion:

According to Sarah Lapham, marketing manager for Skyline Chili, the event recognizes the accomplishments of the Cincinnati Reds, celebrates the pride the community feels in its team, and reflects Skyline’s own long-time partnership with the Cincinnati Reds organization. “Skyline Chili is incredibly proud of our Cincinnati roots, a pride that extends to other hometown favorites like the Cincinnati Reds. As a long-time partner of the Reds, we felt it only appropriate to do something to recognize this exciting moment in Cincinnati history.”

Skyline’s web site lists 14 Dayton-area locations, and a Skyline spokeswoman confirmed that the offer is good at those Miami Valley locations as well as Cincinnati, Columbus and select other markets.
