New, locally owned cafe opens in Beavercreek
BEAVERCREEK — Experienced restaurateurs Bill and Annette Mangan have opened a new restaurant, the Cherry House Cafe, at 1241 Meadow Bridge Drive just off Dayton-Xenia Road east of North Fairfield Road.
The restaurant, which started serving last week, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Its menu includes homemade pastries, soups, entree salads, burgers and specialty sandwiches, Bill Mangan said today, June 9.
Cherry House Cafe seats 75, and a drive-through is available for carryout orders. It employs 15.
Mangan said he saw the need for an upscale family restaurant in the city.
“There’s nothing around here doing what we do,” he said. “Everything is made from scratch, and we’re serving these homemade items in a family atmosphere. We thought there was a niche for that.”
The Mangans operated the Oasis Cafe in Xenia from 1997 to 2005 and the Peasant Stock Cafes in the Dayton Mall and Salem Mall from 1987 to 1997. They own and operate One-Eyed Jacks, a sports bar and restaurant, at 2638 Colonel Glenn Hwy in Fairborn.
A ribbon-cutting is planned for June 23. The cafe’s hours are 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. For more information, call (937) 320-6200.
