New restaurant opens tomorrow near UD

The Butter Cafe — the breakfast-and-lunch restaurant on Brown Street that we first told you about in early February — will open its doors tomorrow, June 8, at 1106 Brown St. near the University of Dayton.

The cafe will open at 7 a.m. Its hours will be 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Amy Beaver, who owns the eatery with business partner Sarah Dudley, said the Butter Cafe opened for a private “friends and family” event on Saturday, June 5, and is gearing up for Tuesday’s public opening.

Beaver, who lives in Oakwood, said the Butter Cafe’s offerings will include “designer” cupcakes, pancakes, beef hamburgers and turkey burgers, locally produced eggs, organic cheeses, gluten-free menu items and several vegan items.

The new restaurant seats about 30. In addition to the two owners, it employs three people

The Butter Cafe’s phone number is (937) 985-9917.
