Waffle House in Moraine, that is where BG met Adreian Payne to recruit him. I love Hickory on Brown, and the Pine Club. Great Steak House in Springfield. Casey’s is real close to golf course, Synder Park.

The Pine Club, hands down. I’ve been going there for almost 40 years and if I want a delicious steak, that’s my first choice. There are other good steaks, of course, and there are definitely restaurants with better ambience, like Oakwood Club and Paragon. But steak, nobody does it better.

All I am seeing are the oldies but goodies. For a truly different and in my opinon great steak you need to try Kent’s in Troy. It’s just west of 75 on St Rte 41 in the old CJ Highmarks building. They prepare the steaks over a wood fired grill…I have only ever had one steak better in my life and that was in Wichita, KS.

Carvers used to be one of the best, but they have given up and now rate near the bottom. Good service, good food is a thing of the past. A shame.

The worst steak served in Dayton is better than any steak served in Tucson, Az. I would do almost anything to have a steak from my home town again. So, enjoy what you have ! Granny
By not perfect, just right!

Bravo or Brio are often overlooked and offer excellent steaks! Some of the best beef in town. For good steak I choose those or Jay Alexander’s or Grub Steak. Good service, good food, good times.

Having just read the words “Best steak in Dayton” and “Texas Roadhouse” in the same sentence,it made me spit coffee all over my monitor. ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS? You don’t get out much, do you? You may as well had said “Ponderosa” as there is absolutely no difference, IMO. I guess nobody has been to Wellington’s in Beavercreek? Their NY Strip is TO DIE FOR. Seriously. To Die For…

Without a doubt the “BONE IN” FILET at the Paragon is the finest. Unfortunately they don’t have it all the time. Pine Club close 2nd but I am always afraid the guy sitting at the next table is going to eat off my plate.

Paragon and Pine Club are tied for first place. The problem with the Pine Club is that it’s so small there is no elbow room. By contrast, the Paragon is spacious.

Best in Dayton: Tie between Coco’s Bistro and Pine Club. Just depends on the mood you are in!

Just an opinion, which all food reviews are… But here’s my top choices for a steak when price isn’t a factor. In no particular order… Paragon,Chop House,Pine Club, Grub Steak,Old Hickory on Brown,Carvers, and Flemmings. Honorbale mention to Oakwood Club and Treasurer Island. You also can’t go wrong with Mortons and the Precinct in Cincinnati or Ruth’s Chris in Columbus.

Take it from me, a fat slob who has eaten just about everything that walks or crawls, Pine Club is THE best steak in this city.

Paragon comes in 1st with Pine Club right behind them. When you’ve been doing it like these two for 30/40 plus years you must be doing something right..If I want cheap I go to Hickory on Brown…

I have had some great steaks in town. Pine Club, Oakwood Club, Flemings. But the best I have ever had, which was 3 or 4 years ago, was at the old Grub Steak. I heard they had a good steak but no lie this was the best I have ever had anywhere. Went to Carvers a few weeks back and it was nice also. Paragon was also good. But that one steak at Grub was the very best I have ever had.

Pine Club. No doubt about it, with the Paragon as a close second. And for a surprise Nick’s in Xenia has a great NY strip.
