Burger King launches new upscale burgers
Burger King is in the process of rolling out its new premium burger line, according to Nation’s Restaurant News.
The new Steakhouse XT burger from Burger King will compete with the McDonald’s Angus Third Pounders and other upscale entries into the premium burger segment, NRN says.
The NRN story also notes that Burger King apparently has installed new “batch broilers” in many of its stores. How are those different from what they had before, I wonder?
I have not tried the Steakhouse XT. Have you?

I get a kick out of the self proclaimed food police. One of my grandads lived to 90 and ate beef, potatoes, etc, to the day he died, of pneumonia. My other Grandad live to 87 and also ate, beef, ham, eggs, etc. He died of compications from a heart valve replacement, the valve was just worn out. The doc. said there was no signs of arteriosclerosis. I think the food police need to get over themselves. Want to bet they are all Liberal Democrats?

I usually watch what I eat, but on rare occasion will get a burger. I had one of these a few weeks ago and I must say - for a fast food burger, it was off the chain delicious. I loved the little fried onion thingys on it. Not something I’d have on a regular basis and I only ate 1/2, but it was VERY yummy.

People, they aren’t holding a gun to your head and making you eat a Steak Burger. If you don’t want it, don’t eat it. Plain and simple.

I completely believe that what you eat is a personal choice, and I think it is much cheaper (initially) to eat unhealthy; but I will say this: I don’t think Burger King needs to add a bigger (and more fattening) burger. Feb. 1st, I have vowed to keep my distance from greasy unhealthy fast food as much as possible, and I have felt MUCH better.

A burger is not a burger. JTM burgers suck, my home made killer burgers rock. You need the right kind of spice and flair for your burgers, and not just salt. (Most restaurants’ idea of spice is salt, salt, and more salt.)

I just had one. I am working late and went to the drivethru and baaaack to the office. It was good. I do watch what I eat, I did not ordwer a softy drink or fries just the sandwich and and I have bottled water back here. All the critics have not tried one they are just jackling crows who are the idiots we call neighbors. Try and decide for yourself. As far as grease it wasn’t. Like I said I watch what I eat, count carbs and all that.

Actually, the “food police” don’t care what you put in your mouth. We are just getting tired of paying high insurance premiums when you rot out your stomach, intestines, liver, heart and blood vessels.Once again, I want your share of social security and I would prefer that you stop running up the health insurance bill, but I guess doctors have to eat too.

So after reading this article yesterday, I figured what the heck, I’ll try one. Big Mistake! The patty was dry and scalding hot. It was obvious it had been hanging arond in their “warming drawer” for quite a while and heated it beyond any moisture. It tasted like ash. I got the cheddar bacon. The bacon did not taste like bacon either. It was obvious IT TOO had been around a while as well. The bacon had the flavor of not the pigs belly, rather the pigs hiney. Usually I’ll chalk it up to experience but had to call them on this one. I have a free sandwich coming. Thing is, do I really want it?

I still REFUSE to eat at BK since late last year, when they started charging extra for onions on sandwiches (i.e. the Double Cheeseburger) that don’t already come with them. FIGHT THE POWER!

NO! People are eating again! No no no no! It’s a proven fact that people who stop eating automatically live to 850. Stupid people. I know what’s good and you don’t so listen to me and live forever!

Only 5 comments from the food police. Where are all the people who want to dictate what the rest of us consume?

770 calories, 46 grams of fat (17 grams are saturated) and 53 carbs. Well over 50% of calories from fat. Not good.

Gomer, Have you looked around lately? There are as many overweight young people as older, if not more. You may be asking to kill off your own generation. Don’t forget, you will be 40 and 50 someday also.

I really do hope that the non health nuts go for all this and eat and eat and eat as much fat, grease and grissel as possible. 40’s and 50’s are a good time to go—leaves more social security $ in the pot for the rest of us.

Upscale and Burger King do not belong in the same sentence. Seriously? Why don’t we leave what works alone and change what doesn’t? There’s always a line at Burger King…I don’t think they need an “upscale” burger to add to the menu!

I have yet to try the new offering, I like the old one. Remember the stuff that gives the burger the flavor is the caramelized fat in the meat so the less fat the less flavor.

Burger King is one of the rare places that doesn’t cave into the health nuts and calorie whiners. Good for them. Let people buy want they want, not what a screaming minority dictates you should have to protect you from yourself.

The Burger Kings in this area have been selling these burgers for a few months now. So I’ve had them multiple times and they’re awesome. They are more expensive than the Whopper, but a lot tastier and more filling.

“upscale” “premium burger segment” The only thing “upscale” & “premium burger” add is cost & fat to already unhealthy food establishments.
