Steakhouse that closed 10 days ago may reopen
GERMANTOWN — Rudy’s Churrascaria, which closed 10 days ago on Sept. 12, may be resurrected at a new location.
“We definitely haven’t given up on Rudy’s … Rudy’s is not gone,” said Dr. Rudy Mejia, the Germantown chiropractor and co-owner of the restaurant that bore his name.
Mejia said he is looking for a new home for the South American steakhouse that served rotisserie meats carved tableside. “We would like to stay in Germantown,” Mejia said.
The poor economy and the lack of a patio contributed to the decision to close Rudy’s, Mejia said. An El Rancho Grande Mexican restaurant replaced Rudy’s at 42 N. Main St. late last week.

Rudy, let everyone know when and where your next place is on the horizon. You have plenty of fans and a great following so…you know what to do next. Best of luck:-)

Ah, I just asked the wife. The service was incredibly disorganized the one time we went, and we were about to walk out. Sorry to read that it hasn’t changed.

We ate there last November and it was very forgettable. We ordered the one-shot dinner (not the unlimited meats) and I wasn’t impressed with any of the meats. It seemed like all of the attention was paid to tables that ordered the gaucho service.

I can see why it closed….friends and I went there a couple of months ago. The food was not great, especially for the price, and the service was horrible. The website listed a much lower price then we were charged, and when we asked about it, the waitress replied, Oh that hasn’t been the price for over a year. I don’t care where they open, if they don’t improve the food and service, they won’t make it.

Wow, we ate there once and it was great (agree the service was so/so). I didn’t know they were still open. I’m not from Germantown and had trouble finding it when we drove through. I hope they announce their new location soon.

We went to Rudy’s to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and while the food was very good, we had to suffer a complaining waitress who, at one point, actually sat at our table to gripe about what a bad day she was having. That takes the romance right out of a celebration dinner. Who wants to pay all that money to hear a waitress complain?

+1. Really nice place. They’d probably do better outside Germantown, though. I know I’d go there more if I didn’t have to schlep over from Centertucky.

Loved Rudy’s. Best Brazilian steakhouse in area. Hope he finds a new location. Will miss the food if he doesn’t.
