Arby’s giving away free sandwiches, with drink purchase

Fast-food chain Arby’s is giving away sandwiches. Sort of.

As part of introducing customers to its new “Roast Burgers,” the company is allowing customers to download a coupon good for a free Roast Burger ONLY IF a drink is purchased “at regular price” — something the coupon’s fine print sees fit to mention twice in identical sentences, just in case you skipped over the first one.

Still, a sandwich is a sandwich, and you can download the printable Arby’s coupon here.

The promotion extends through March 9, and it’s available “at participating Arby’s restaurant locations only,” as they say (and they DO say).

Went and did it. $1.74 for a small pop, so I could try the hype. It’s like a cross between a market fresh and a regular. Nothing “fresh” here same Arby’s taste, it’s all in the marketing.

The stipulation of having to buy a drink to try this sandwich excludes people from getting one who do not drink pop/tea/lemonade therefore they are not getting a free sandwich but one at a reduced price.

Reading the comments from everyone about “ilovecarolshowers” has made me laugh so hard that I now have the hiccups. Thank you - a good laugh was much needed today!

ilovcarolshowers was just ticked off because the friend would save the trash and they would eat it after work.

Thanks for the coupon. My wife and I have saved over $40 this month on coupons we found on DDN.com — and even more from the Sunday print edition! Awesome! I eat at Arby’s semi-regularly and I’ve had the new roast burger and was unimpressed, but I will get it again with the coupon. I can’t afford not to! :)

I printed the coupon this morning and used it at the Piqua location, and aside from my Mt Dew being a bit off, I was unimpressed with the sandwich. It was as messy as Rally’s burgers used to advertise themselves to be, but with no flavor from the meat, all I could taste was the messy toppings. Glad it only cost me about $1.36 for the barely potable drink, because I won’t be getting another one. Even if it were truly free.

You know, if I were God Emperor of the universe, one thing that would be illegal is to call something free that’s not free. An allowable coupon would be something like “72 cents off our new Roast Burger.” A coupon that said “Try our new Roast Burger free” would not be allowed to require any other purchase.

I think that ilovcarolshowers is an 11 year old! Free food is free food and ilov doesn’t have to eat at same store his/her friend was “fried” from! However, my co-worker and I had a really good laugh this morning! Thanks Carolshowers!

My favorite part about that post is that her reason for not going there was because her friend was a bad employee, but he got canned, so the problem she had was solved, thus it’s good to go there, seems like all to many places are slow to get rid of problem employees, but not Arby’s!

“ilovecarolshowers’” misspellings are obviously intentional to draw attention and get a laugh. “avenell 32” obviously isn’t the “sharpest knife in the drawer” in spelling and texts frequently with using “u” instead of “you” and “ur” instead of “your”. Regarding Arby’s, it’s about time they offered something like this.

avenell32…abby’s? Who or what is abby’s? Look at your spelling and then maybe “u” can see the humor in illiteracy. Did you even read ilovecarolshowers post? Lighten up…

Hooked on phonics did not work for ilovecarolshowers. How sad is that.

Okay, I was gonna post something about the cost of the drink being the catch…then I read the posting by ilovecarolshowers and was mortified! my spelling isn’t perfect, and I work with special needs’ children. But, I couldn’t get past the multiple misspellings. However, I was relieved to see that others felt the same. Anyway, back to the burger — it doesn’t sound too appetizing. But, if it’s free, I may give it a try — even if I have to buy an overpriced drink in the process — hold the ice please :-)

So I printed the coupon and tried one of these today and they are good. There are 3 different sandwiches and I got the “All American” and it was better than I expected it to be.

maybe the 11 year old can teach “ilovcarolshowers” to spell and create a whole sentence!

Hey “ilovcarolshowers”, did you read the DDN story where an ELEVEN year old won a spelling bee? Is he related to you? http://www.daytondailynews.com/n/content/oh/story/news/local/2009/02/28/ddn022809beeweb.html

Take heed these are not burgers. These are processed roast beef with the acutrements that a burger would have added to them. They aren’t horrible but they are definitely not a burger. I miss carolshowers too. She must be spending more time on her college education. Clearly spelling is not required on exam papers.

I agree with RM25483, that was awesome! Don, you’d have to read these comment sections often—Carol Showers is quite possibly one of the Miami Valley’s worst spellers who loves to post comments.

I find it hard to take any comments remotely serious from people such as “ilovecarolshowers” when they clearly cannot spell or create a single thought. Maybe “ilovecarolshowers” was the one who was “fried”. Maybe she had a bad experience at a local Arby’s location after her welfare renewal was denied.

To ilovecarolshowers: nice. Thanks, I haven’t had a good laugh like that on these forums in a while. I haven’t seen her posts in a while, I wonder if she finally did herself in through some horribly hilarious act of stupidity. But yes, I love Arby’s, though I never buy pop ( at least not at restaurant prices ); I’ll just stick to the 5-for-5 leftovers in the fridge. :)

“Roast burgers”? I am impressed at this move; Arby’s is branching out from roast beef to include stuff like mozzarella sticks, potato bites, and the best breakfast sausage sandwiches EVER. I’m in!
