Restaurant to launch breakfast service Monday
The Artisans Cafe at 8351 N. Main St. in the Randolph Plaza in Clayton will start serving breakfast at 8 a.m. this Monday, Jan. 12, according to co-owner Pam Heintz.
The restaurant’s breakfast menu will include eggs, pancakes, French toast, quiche, omelets, breakfast wraps, homemade granola, yogurt parfaits, fresh fruit, and Boston Stoker coffee, Heintz said.
Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Saturday (although the quiche is served all day).
Artisans’ hours are Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. For more information, call (937) 890-5250.

I have eaten many times at Artisan’s. They have very good food, very large portions, and very good prices. You do have healthy choices if you choose to do so.

You guys are hilarious! I really hope you don’t take yourselves too seriously. I live in Englewood and have never been to Artisans, but, seeing as breakfast is the best meal of the day, I may try it on a Saturday. And, why should they be open on Sunday, Pam? Your comment speaks for itself…maybe the employees want to get a little spiritual food as well. Money is not everything. Julie, seriously, you knew the article was about food. Are you just looking for a good argument? This is a human interest story. This human is obviously interested or else I would not have read it. And I think tbill needs a nap.

I don’t live in the area, but even if I did, not serving breakfast on the one day many people splurge and go out (Sunday) is kind of odd. And to open at 8, after most business people have either arrived, or are close to arriving at work is a puzzle to figure out as well. But perhaps they know their area best. Good luck!

Julie, Although I fart in your general direction, I agree with your multiple diatribes. Good work!!!!

Hey Pam H: Have you ever ordered Artisan’s Chicken/Mushroom/Spinach pizza?? There are more toppings on that one pizza than on about three typical chain pizzas! So many toppings, in fact, that the last time my mom and I ordered one, we ended up having to eat it with our forks because stuff was just falling off everywhere! Support local small businesses!

Read something other than DDN old Flavor, and you’ll see there’s more important things going on in the world besides restaurants serving breakfast, where apparently, you’ve appointed yourself the Mapquest police.

They ar doing whatever they can to make money. Problem is, for the $ their food isn’t that good, nor do they give you very much. They should do breakfast on Sunday, after church, they would probably get more business than on a Tuesday morning when people work.

Artisan Cafe is now right next to Bernstein’s Catering on 48 just a little South of 48. No one appointed you the discussion police, Julie. Don’t like a topic, ignore it. No one needs your worthless opinion on what’s worth talking about. Get over yourself, you ain’t it, Miss Think You’re a Thing.

Hey, tbill, you are typical for those who live south of town, you don’t realize there are residents who happily live north - away from those congested malls!! You ought to visit us sometime!!

Artisan’s is one of my favorite restaurants. Where else can you go to get healthy, great-tasting food, a HUGE cup of coffee, and FRIENDLY service all at the same place? Probably not up in “tbill’s” neck of the woods, doesn’t sound like very friendly people live there at all!!! All kidding aside, you really should give Artisan’s a try. There are musicians on the weekends and there is always artwork to enjoy while you are having your meal or coffee. And congratulations, Pam, your new location is very nice and I love the window graphic. I can’t wait to try breakfast!

In case you didn’t notice mechengr9, I was making a point about how the DDN allows readers to post comments on non-issues but not on the issues that truly affect us. And you know where to take your comment.

Artisan’s is AMAZING! If you haven’t eaten there, GO! They offer wonderfully healthy alternatives to fast food but aren’t so healthy that it feels like all you’re eating is granola and dried fruit. Salads, wraps, PIZZAS, all unbelievable! Not expensive at all. I can’t wait to see the breakfast menu. And tbill: I go there and I live on the south end of Dayton.

hey Julie in case you didn’t notice the article to comment on was about food not utilities. therefore your comment is just silly. Take your loft motives elsewhere.

DDN is so cutting edge! Another restaurant serves food and they want our opinions on it! I’m all for food being served. Now can we comment on something a little more important….like DP&L and Vectren raising their rates?

Is it going to be “launched” via the Space Shuttle or some other means? And how many people care about a place to get coffee and eggs, so hard to prepare at home, clear up in Clayton? Is that somehow convenient for many of your readers?
